Surrogates Backline 2025 Mixed Box of 20

The Surrogates brand started here at NHC and is now part of the Tatuaje family of products. It has continued to add projects to the line almost each year. Although there have been a couple of Limited releases these past couple of years, they were simply special sizes of an existing project blend that we wanted to produce in a limited quantity. Backline is a Limited release that is completely different. It's its own project. But unlike the rest of the Surrogates projects, this will be a Limited release each year - and the blends will change each year along with it -as explained below.

Surrogates Backline is a project that started with Dan replacing a vacuum tube on his guitar amp when he realized that the top of the tube resembled the fuma head that we use on some of our vitolas. Thus, the idea for an Amp Box was born.

Wanting to do two different sizes in the box (since guitar amps have pre-amp tubes and power tubes) we decided to use the same blend for both sizes with the larger size using a slightly higher priming wrapper, albeit just the next sorting up.

The two sizes decide on when blending were 4 x 54 and 5 x 54. The blend of Nicaragua tobaccos is medium-full and has a Habano Ecuador wrapper. While blending at the factory, Dan said this particular blend reminded him of "a certain amp tone that had a lot of mid-range and a little grit" and that this was the perfect start for the series. The intent is to create a different blend each year, that will be reminiscent of a different style of amp.

This is a Limited Run of only 1000 mixed boxes of 20.
