FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: L'Atelier Imports announces the next Limited Release, Côte d'Or La Tâche 2016.
In 2015, L’Atelier released Côte d'Or as a limited project using some coveted Pelo de Oro from the Garcia’s farms and the result was extremely special. This year they are once again creating a limited vitola using Pelo de Oro from the Garcias.
The naming of the Côte d'Or project pays homage to the famed Burgundy wine growing region in France known for growing Pinot Noir, one of the most temperamental grape varietals. Pelo de Oro is a very temperamental tobacco plant, requiring a lot of hands on care and it is also extremely subjective to the environment in which it is grown. With both Pelo de Oro and Pinot Noir, the yields are low, but the resulting products are very special. Côte d'Or, which translates roughly to “Gold Coast” made for a classic name given the translation of Pelo de Oro as “Hair of Gold” and the similarities between growing Pinot Noir and Pelo de Oro.
La Tâche is a famous wine from the Côte d'Or region, but it translates to “the task”, which fit perfectly with the theme of L’Atelier which means “the workshop”. The task of the workshop has been to work as a group on projects that bring out the best in the tobaccos they utilize, and the Côte d'Or La Tâche does just that.
Sancti Spiritus is a hybrid of Criollo and Pelo de Oro. This year, the team at L’Atelier decided to use a mid priming rosado Sancti Spiritus wrapper instead of the higher priming wrapper from last years Côte d'Or. This will change the profile for Côte d'Or La Tâche as well as the different size of 5 1/2 x 50. Again it will be presented with a new band in ten count boxes.
Total production for Côte d'Or La Tâche will be 2,000 ten count boxes (20,000 cigars)
with a MSRP of $16, or $160/box of ten.
